SABVS Rules & Regulations 2025-2026
Key changes to previous season
- Elite12 3Star will be the top grade regardless of day, consistent for all rounds, and will replace the previous Elite8 3Star grade. The new Elite12 format will have a maximum of 4 matches (no Quarters), including Playoff matches, Bronze and Gold. All other grades will have the known 12-team format, including Quarterfinals and a maximum of 5 matches when playing in the Gold medal match.
- Futures grades are adjusted to: age 15 and under
- Kidman Park and Mawson Lakes Beach could potentially be used as a second venue due to limited court availability at Glenelg.
- Referee Qualifications: minimum VA Level1 for the Top Referee (one per team) will now be mandatory in 3Star and 2Star grades.
- VSA will supply only 1 matchball per court. Please feel free to bring your own for warmup.
- SABVS Championships eligibility (min 4 SA events) criteria are only for the tops grades,
- SABVS Championship Top grade (4Star) will run over 2 days. All other grades will be 1 day only. Age15 and under + u17s on Saturday and 1+2+3 Star on Sunday.
- Entry fee update: all Star grades $87.27, all Futures grades $65.45.
- Matching official SABVS uniforms (shirts and crops) is only mandatory for 3Star grades. Please follow this link to the VALOUR online Shop. In all other grades, players have to wear any matching uniforms (can be club gear or other non-official SABVS). In every grade Shorts and Bottoms have to be of the same colour but do not need to be the same style, example PlayerA Bikini bottom and PlayerB Shorts. Futures grades can wear anything they like.
- The Rising Star Player Award will be given to the Most Improved Player based on the Average ranking point difference earned per round in comparison to the previous year.
- Price Money will only be given at the SA Open and the SABVS Championships. 3-Star winners will be given a Promotion Code of over $43,635 to get free entry into any subsequent round.
- If you are on the Reserve list, you are currently not in the draw and will receive a call in case a team withdraws from the competition. This could happen until late evening before the competition starts. If you want to be removed from the reserve list, please contact VSA. Your nomination can be forwarded to a future round or refunded.
