Beachside: "Mixed Pairs''
Enjoy summer with the perfect blend of fun and competition! Beachside Mixed Pairs Volleyball is ideal for anyone looking to get into beach volleyball in a flexible, social setting—only a Social Membership is required.
Unlike weekly indoor competitions or full-day commitments like SABVS, this series lets you choose the dates and competitions that suit your schedule. No need to commit to a full season or an entire day while having a more social aspect of participation.
Mixed Pairs Events include:
- Three to Four Rounds followed by Championships, with no eligibility criteria.
- A half-day format featuring 25-30 minute timed matches to 18 points per set, typically starting at 9:00am with Finals scheduled for 3pm (unless otherwise stated).
- Graded division preferences: A-Grade, B-Grade and C-Grade for players of all skill levels.
Join us for great matches and even better memories on the sand this summer!

- A Men is serving the opponent Men the whole set, but at the end of the set serves the Women – if the Referee deems this is intentional and not a lack of skill then ONLY the Referee can stop the rally and replay the point.
- Exception of the above Gentleman's rules is possible if both teams agree before the start of the match
The winning team is determined by the following Rules:
- No Draws, Matches end either by winning best of 3 sets to 18 points (3rd to 12 points) or,
- If only 1 set was completed, the winner will be determined by the highest total rally points accumulated from both sets. Any completed sets (18points and 12points in the 3rd set, win by 2) will count towards the final pool position. Not completed sets will not count.
- If the rally points are equal, then a ‘’Serve-Off’’ will determine who will win an additional point and added to the score. The ‘’Serve Off’’ will be done immediately after the completion of the Match.
- ‘’Serve-Off’’ : every Player has 1 serve from the same end. The closest ball mark to the baseline (has to be ‘’In’’) wins an additional point.
- Any Playoff matches, Bronze and Gold medal matches are untimed.
