WRAPPED UP: ADELAIDE STORM HOME ROUNDS

27 October 2026

Performance Our People Fun and Social Competitive

Pelligra Adelaide Storm have wrapped up their home fixtures for the 2026 Australian Volleyball Super League season, with more than 450 spectators turning out across two exciting rounds at The Lights Community & Sports Centre.

Taking on New South Wales Phoenix in Round 1 and Melbourne Vipers in Round 3, both the men's and women's teams delivered plenty of exciting volleyball for the home crowd, showcasing the talent, determination and depth of South Australian volleyball.

A STRONG START AGAINST NSW PHOENIX

The Storm opened their home campaign on 10 October against NSW, with the women delivering a dominant 5–0 victory (18–13, 18–12, 18–15, 18–13, 18–11).

The performance earned national recognition, with middle blocker Beth Carey and outside hitter Rebecca Reeve both named in the AVSL Round 1 Team of the Week.

The men's side battled through a competitive five-set contest, ultimately falling 2–3 (18–11, 8–18, 10–18, 18–15, 12–18), showing plenty of fight against the strong side.

A THRILLING FINAL HOME ROUND AGAINST MELBOURNE VIPERS

Returning to The Lights on Saturday 24 October, the Storm faced Melbourne Vipers for their final home fixtures of the season.

The women's side produced another closely contested five-set battle, narrowly falling 2–3 (18–15, 12–18, 11–18, 18–16, 16–18).

Despite the result, the women have demonstrated their potential throughout the opening three rounds, securing a bonus point in every match and sitting at one win and two losses.

With much of the squad returning from previous Super League seasons, alongside the connections developed throughout their respective club campaigns, the team has shown strong chemistry on court. The next challenge will be converting that experience and connection into results when it matters most, particularly in the closing stages of tight sets.

The men's team also showed encouraging signs against Victoria, despite a 1–4 result (11–18, 10–18, 18–13, 17–18, 17–18).

With two sets decided by the narrowest of margins, the men demonstrated their ability to challenge their opposition and find momentum throughout the match.

Having rotated through different combinations across the opening rounds, the Storm men have highlighted the depth, grit and experience within their squad. As the season progresses, the focus turns to bringing those strengths together and delivering consistent performances when the pressure is on.

MORE THAN JUST VOLLEYBALL

Beyond the action on court, the home fixtures were a celebration of the South Australian volleyball community.

Across both rounds, more than 450 attendees came through the doors of The Lights Community & Sports Centre to support Adelaide Storm, creating an exciting atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

Round 3 also featured a special courtside corporate function, welcoming Volleyball SA's valued VIPs, sponsors and partners to experience the action up close.

These events would not have been possible without the incredible support of the many volunteers who generously contributed their time and energy across both home rounds.

Volleyball SA extends a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer, staff member, sponsor, partner and supporter who helped bring the home rounds to life, as well as both Storm squads and their coaching staff for their continued commitment and effort on court.

NEXT STOP BRISBANE

With their home fixtures now complete, Adelaide Storm turn their attention to Round 4, travelling to Brisbane to take on the Queensland Pirates this weekend.
