Our PeopleVOLLEYBALL SA STATEMENT | RESPONSE TO MEDIA REPORTS ON NETHERLANDS PLAYER COMPETING AT FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Volleyball South Australia is excited that the upcoming Beach Volleyball World Championships will be hosted in Adelaide. Volleyball Australia is the appointed Local Organising Committee and is responsible for the delivery of the event infrastructure and hosting obligations.
Eligibility of all competitors and participating nations is determined by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World Beach Qualification System. For further details on eligibility please contact FIVB.
Like all athletes and officials participating at the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships they need to satisfy visa requirements as outlined by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs. Any status on visa applications need to be referred to the Department of Home Affairs.
Volleyball South Australia does not condone any behaviour that puts anyone, in particular young people, at risk. This is not a matter we have any involvement in, and we cannot make any comment on the determination or process.
While we understand a visa application is pending, our focus right now is celebrating the 5 South Australians selected to represent their country, three for the first time, at a World Championships.
