Volleyball SA heads to Northern Territory for Regional Roadshow

Volleyball South Australia is thrilled to launch its first-ever Regional Roadshow to the Northern Territory, thanks to the generous support of Freemasons SA & NT.

The roadshow begins in Darwin on 12 May, followed by a journey south to Alice Springs on 16 May. Across both regions, the tour will provide access to volleyball development opportunities for schools, players, coaches, and referees.

Building the Game in Darwin

In Darwin, VSA officials - Peter Giannes, Sophie Hawkins, Maicon Mendes da Cunha, and Jacalyn Pickering will engage with local schools and deliver a variety of activities, including:

Junior and adult Come & Try sessions
Level 2 Coaching and Referee courses
School-based sessions focused on skill-building and staff development

With support from Top End Volleyball Association and Volleyball NT, the roadshow aims to spark interest in volleyball across all age group.

The team will continue their efforts in Alice Springs, where sessions will include:

School visits and student skill development
Come & Try opportunities for junior and community players
Level 1 Referee and Level 2 Coaching courses
Skills sessions for VNT athletes and coaches

These programs will be hosted at key venues such as St Philip's College and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, offering opportunities for athletes and teachers to connect with VSA’s expert coaching staff.

This initiative reflects VSA’s commitment to growing the game across regional areas, providing local communities with the tools and knowledge to sustain and expand volleyball programs. Whether you're a beginner, an aspiring referee, or a coach - this roadshow has something for everyone.
