What an incredible weekend we had, these amazing teams are the best of the best! Going head to head for the 2024 SAVL Championship title! We had a great turnout, and watched some EPIC volleyball but ultimately there could only be one winner.
LEAGUE MEN - AUSTRAL PHOENIX CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS
AUSTRAL (3) VS NORWOOD (2)
Austral Phoenix were our SAVL 2024 Champions! Norwood Bears placing second, as our 2024 SAVL Runners up!
It was an incredible match between 2 formidable teams! Congratulations Austral for taking home the 2024 SAVL win!

"I don't think the win has truly sunk in for me or the playing group just yet. It was clear early in the season that we were going to be a competitive team, but we know going in that nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the finals’ series. We also knew we were going up against teams with much more finals experience than us, which led to a lot of apprehension in the lead up. I'm just so proud of how everyone played. I'm incredibly impressed with the courage and heart displayed on court, especially when I consider that group’s age and number of ‘first-timers’ for SAVL Leage finals. I know how special this win is for everyone involved, and it's just outstanding to be a part of the club's first Men's League Premiership."

"I am very proud of our team. It has been a difficult season for us with injuries, players not returning from last season and unavailability. But we continued to work hard and improve every week. Personally, it was a special game for me. I won’t be returning as Head Coach next season, so it was a great way to finish. I am excited to see what is next for the group."
