20 June 2024
Performance Our People CompetitiveVolleyball South Australia is thrilled to announce that Finley Bennett, one of our exceptional young athletes, has been selected to represent Australia in the upcoming U20 Indoor Asian Championships, Oceania Qualifier, which will be held in Indonesia this July.
Finley, a tier-1 South Australia Sports Institute (SASI) scholarship athlete, has exhibited remarkable dedication, hard work and aptitude throughout his journey to date. His selection for the national team is a significant accomplishment and a testament to the calibre of training provided by Volleyball South Australia’s Performance Pathway and most recently the SASI program.
Finley, who stands at a remarkable height of 2.02 metres and is only 17 years old, has already made significant progress in his volleyball career. He represented Australia at the U19 Asian Beach Volleyball Championships in Roi Et, Thailand earlier this year.
When asked about his selection, Bennett shared,
"I am very happy and proud to have been selected for this team and to be with such a great group of guys makes it so much better. I can’t wait to go away and compete."
Volleyball SA is extremely proud of Finley's achievements and extends its best wishes to him in his forthcoming competitions. We are confident that he will continue to excel and bring pride to Volleyball South Australia on the international stage.
For those wishing to support Finley's athletic journey, donations can be made through the Australian Sports Foundation, which offers tax-deductible contributions.
