Coaching and Refereeing Courses

Volleyball South Australia is excited to announce the launch of Level 2 coaching and referee courses, aimed at enhancing the skills and accreditation of volleyball enthusiasts across the state.
Level 2 Associate Coaching Courses
Led by renowned coach Trent Woodward, the Level 2 Associate Coaching Course comprises two parts:
- Session 1 online component - Sunday, April 14th, from 5 pm to 9 pm
- Session 1 practical session - Tuesday, April 16th, from 7 pm to 9 pm.
- Additionally, Session 2, is an in-person, 6-hour classroom course - Sunday, April 21st, from 9 am to 3 pm.
Lv2 Coaching - Course 1 (2 Sessions)
Lv2 Coaching - Course 2 (1 session)
Attaining Level 2 Associate Accreditation is crucial for individuals aspiring to obtain their Level 2 State Accreditation, a requirement for coaching positions in various SAVL divisions, including seniors and juniors.
Why Pursue Level 2 Coaching Accreditation?
- SAVL Senior clubs mandate Level 1 coaching accreditations for Division 2 Teams and below, while assistant coaches require the same for all teams.
- SAVL Junior clubs necessitate Level 1 coaching accreditations for all teams except State League Juniors.
- Head coaches of SAVL Seniors' League, Reserves, and Division 1 Teams, as well as SAVL Juniors' State League Teams, must hold Level 2 State Coaching Accreditations.
Next Steps:
Those with Level 2 State Coaching Accreditations gain eligibility to coach state teams, fostering further opportunities in the sport.
How to Get Started:
Before attending Level 2 courses, completion of online Level 1 coaching courses is mandatory.

Presented by Jack Montgomery, the Level 2 Associate Referee Course offers a 4-hour, in-person session with practical components following the classroom instruction on Sunday, April 21st, from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Why Pursue Level 2 Referee Accreditation?
- SAVL Senior clubs require a designated number of accredited referees for each team.
Next Steps:
Level 2 State Referee Accreditation holders become eligible for national events, potentially earning letters of approval for Level 3 National Accreditation. Higher accreditation levels increase opportunities for officiating in prestigious matches, including SAVL grand finals.
How to Get Started:
Completion of online Level 1 referee courses precedes enrollment in Level 2 courses.
