LEVEL 2 Referee COURSE

A coach is accredited as a Volleyball Australia Level 2 Referee when they complete a Level 2 course and the associated requirements.

This accreditation is valid for a period of 4 years as long as the individual remains a VSA member.

Course Structure

Face-to-face Level 2 Referee Course will be conducted in a practical and active format. Participants are expected to referee and participate in match play where appropriate so please wear attire suitable for volleyball and bring a whistle, a water bottle, a pen and paper. The duration of the course is approximarely 5 hours. Face-to-face courses are the preferred delivery method, however in certain situations a Zoom based course may be offered.

After Attending the Course

After attending the course a participant will be a Level 2 Referee Candidate. Part of the requirements to become accredited as a Level 2 Referee is to officiate a total of 10 games across 4 different roles, keep a log sheet and have two games observed and assessed by an approved assessor to meet certain competencies.  If you are seeking opportunities to log games as an official or have one of your games observed, please contact development@volleyballsa.com.au.   • To attain accreditation, a Level 2 Candidate must:
    • Officiate 3 games as a 1st Referee, with one game observed for assessment of competency.
    • Officiate 3 games as a 2nd Referee, with one game observed for assessment of competency.
    • Officiate 2 games as a Scorer
    • Officiate 2 games as a Line Referee
