Volleyball SA would like to wish our community a very Happy Easter, we hope everyone enjoys a safe long weekend! 

 

1) 2018 GOLD COAST COMMONWEALTH GAMES

 

Not long now.. History in the making as Beach Volleyball is set to light up the Commonwealth Games with our Helloworld Travel Volleyroos going for Gold!!

Volleyball SA would like to congratulate the athletes selected to represent Australia at the games:

Beach Volleyball is the hottest tickets at the Games, selling out weeks ago! Volleyball Australia have been overwhelmed with follow up requests. However some good news, Volleyball Australia have set up "VolleyBar" at the Coolangatta Hotel for those that can’t get tickets so you can watch the matches in a great atmosphere.

2) VOLLEYBALL NATIONS LEAGUE

Australia is set to create history when the all new Volleyball Nations League (VNL) comes to Melbourne’s Hisense Arena June 22-24.  

This is a never before seen opportunity for fans to see the Australian Hello World Travel Volleyroos host both the Olympic Champions Brazil and World Champions Poland at the same time along with Pan American champions Argentina. This will be Volleyball at its absolute best.

The new fast and furious format sees sixteen of the best Volleyball nations in the world battle it over a gruelling five week tournament in 21 countries with the Volleyroos competing in five countries and four different continents including at home in Australia.

Tickets start from $20 and the Volleyball community is urged to act fast on the exclusive pre sale offer before tickets go on sale to the public April 3.

TICKETS THROUGH TICKETEK

The Volleyroos will go into camp in Poland early May and play some warm up matches against Germany before kicking off their VNL campaign in France May 25-27 where they will play hosts France, Iran and Japan.

 

3) SABVS CHAMPIONS

A very windy day on the beach meant our Finalists had to play smart to earn their way to the gold medal match.

There was a lot to fight for with over $3,000 up for grabs for the 4 star teams.

Congratulations to our Champions Casey Grice/Bo Soderberg and Britt Kendall/Stef Weiler.

4) SITTING VOLLEYBALL SA

This is truly a sport for all, including disabled athletes. It is similar to standing volleyball but is played on a smaller court and lower net. It is played indoors and players with various levels and types of physical impairment, must move around the court in a seated position on the floor.
